We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal with native English proficiency to join our Expat Law team in Mexico City’s historic center. This role is crucial in supporting our attorneys who assist expatriates with a range of legal matters, including immigration, real estate, international tax, and corporate compliance in Mexico. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing casework, conducting research, and ensuring smooth communication with our English-speaking clients. Responsabilidades Clave
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases pertaining to immigration, real estate, and corporate law for expatriate clients.
- Prepare, review, and organize legal documents, including petitions, applications, agreements, and correspondence.
- Assist attorneys in client intake, communication, and case management, ensuring timely follow-ups and clear explanations of legal processes.
- Manage client files, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and confidential.
- Liaise with government agencies, consulates, and other third parties as required for case progression.
- Translate legal documents and communications between English and Spanish, as needed.
- Support attorneys in preparing for meetings, hearings, and presentations.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the legal team and ensure efficient office operations.
Habilidades Requeridas
- Native-level proficiency in English (verbal and written).
- Strong command of Spanish (verbal and written) at an advanced professional level.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proven ability to conduct thorough legal research using online databases and other resources.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Cualificaciones Preferidas
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent qualification.
- 1-2 years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant, preferably in immigration, real estate, or corporate law.
- Familiarity with Mexican legal procedures and regulations.
